Sportstuff 1030 Adventure Inflatable SUP Review
It performs well on flat water but even better on small waves, and it comes with a great range of accessories to get you started. If you don’t have a lot to spend, its low price makes it a fantastic cheap inflatable SUP, but for this you do have to compromise on pump quality and maximum rider weight.
This stand up paddle board is thinner than the PEAK iSUP and requires only 15 PSI. As a result, it provides more than enough stability for small or inexperienced riders. People who are big or very experienced might be sensitive to rough water which can be felt through the feet, but light riders or beginners will find the lightweight design easy to maneuver. For those still getting to grips with stand up paddling, this board can tackle small waves very easily.
Included with the paddle board is a range of basic accessories, including an adjustable paddle, stainless steel tow rings, a hand pump, a pressure gauge, a valve wrench, a fin and a board leash. Unlike the travel-friendly PEAK iSUP, the mesh backpack supplied here is more appropriate for a hobbyist rather than someone who’s going to take stand up paddling seriously. However, the removable seat which comes supplied with the Sportstuff 1030 is an added bonus which is unique to all the boards reviewed here. It provides a welcome respite for beginners to SUP boarding who may not be able to stand or stay there all day.
It can be tiring to inflate this board to the full 15 PSI, so you’ll need some physical strength as it is too fragile for use with an electric pump. That said, once it’s up you can leave this paddle board inflated all the time as its automatic shut off valve will prevent an air leak.
The Sportstuff 1030 can support people up to 250 lbs in weight, but they will experience less buoyancy and slightly more buckling than those under 180 lbs. As a result, it’s great for getting to grips with stand up paddling, but bigger or heavier riders may want to splash out on a thicker, more stable model. That said, for those lighter riders, this properly inflated board feels very sturdy, offering security and stability for beginners.
Featuring a carry handle and bungee cord to store a few small belongings, this iSUP is simple and practical. For the low price, it’s a fantastic all-rounder to get you out on the water.
